According to Huo Fupeng, in terms of production and sales, the production and sales of new energy vehicles in the first half of this year were 3.788 million and 3.747 million, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 42.4% and 44.1%; From the perspective of market share, the proportion of new energy vehicle sales to total vehicle sales has reached 28.3%, an increase of 2.7 percentage points compared to 2022; From the perspective of ownership, as of the end of June this year, the total number of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 16.2 million. The production and sales volume, market share, and ownership of new energy vehicles have all reached historic highs.

Huo Fupeng believes that significant achievements have been made in new energy vehicles in the first half of the year, mainly reflected in the following aspects: firstly, the market recognition of new energy vehicles is constantly increasing. In the consumption of new energy vehicles, private consumption accounts for over 80%, further increasing compared to 2022. The second is the acceleration of the export pace of new energy vehicles. In the first half of this year, China exported a total of 534000 new energy vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.6 times. The export of key components such as power batteries has maintained rapid growth. The third is the continuous improvement of product technical performance. The range and safety performance of new energy vehicles are constantly improving, and technologies such as intelligent cabins and assisted driving are accelerating their application. The level of product intelligence is constantly improving. In the sales of new energy passenger vehicles, the proportion of vehicles equipped with auxiliary driving function is about 54%, an increase of nearly 10 percentage points compared to 2022. The fourth is to continuously optimize the usage environment. In the first half of this year, 1442000 Charging station were newly built nationwide, including 351000 public Charging station. By the end of June, more than 6.6 million Charging station of various types had been built nationwide, and more than 2200 power stations had been built. The convenience of energy supplement for new energy vehicles was further improved.

Huo Fupeng pointed out that recently, the Central Political Bureau meeting proposed to consolidate and expand the development advantages of new energy vehicles. The Executive Meeting of the State Council made important arrangements for the development of the new energy vehicle industry, and the General Office of the State Council The relevant departments have successively issued documents such as the Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of Charging Infrastructure to Better Support the Rural Revitalization of New Energy Vehicles and the Guiding Opinions on Further Building a High Quality Charging Infrastructure System, and introduced policies to continue and optimize the reduction and exemption of new energy vehicle purchase taxes, creating a good policy and market environment for the consumption of new energy vehicles.
